What you give attention, grows.

Our world is not always beautiful. That is why I often choose subjects for my paintings that could be called 'Small Happiness'. The negative side of life gets enough attention in the media, so I feel called to look for the beautiful sides. With the underlying motive: 'What you pay attention to, grows'.

Count your blessings

A subject that often returns in my work is the child that is absorbed in its activities. You also find people and animals making contact with each other and with their surroundings. Also the beauty of nature inspires me to draw or paint. You will find more little gems if you are focused on them. I consider it a great blessing that I have an eye for these small pieces of happiness.

Techniques and materials

I practice many different techniques. Often I choose oilpaint. Sometimes it is acrylic paint or watercolor. I also love to work with mixed media. What I will choose for a particular painting depends on the result I want to achieve and the story I want to tell.
